I am having an issue with printer re-direction on a new Windows 2008 R2 server. I am using it as a terminal server for a many users and cant quite seem to figure out the re-direction.
I have it enabled where it allows re-direction and every time some one logs in, you can see their re-directed printers starts to populate the list. Once you select one and print, it works fine.
The issue I am having is that whenever someone defaults a re-directed printer they use, when they log out and back in it has been switched to another printer. I am sure this is because when they log out of the remote desktop. the printer goes with them. My questions is, is there a way to default a printer and when they log back in, have it default automatically back to that one without having to change it every single time they log in?
For users who are on network in office, I have just shared the printer and issue has been solved. However, remote people who use VPN and therefore get a different IP address every time cannot share it to print off of. That is the issue I am having.
Thanks.
