We have two branches. Each branch has a Windows 2012R2 Print server. I have a handful of users that need to print documents to the other branch. I'm debating between these two options.
1. Add the printer to its local print server, so when Branch B prints to Printer in location A it will go across the WAN to the print server and then to the
printer.
2. Add the printer to the user's local print server, so when Branch B prints to Printer in location A, it will go to Branch B's print server than across the WAN to the printer in location A.
Is there any compression of the document, and if so, is it done by the Windows 7 desktop, or the print spooler.
Does the connection between the desktop and the print server generate enough traffic to sway my decision?
