Hello All,
We have Windows 2008 and windows 2012 environment hosting print service
Almost all servers are having 10 to 15 Print queue.
When users trying to connect the printer Ie:\\Servername\Printer name Asking credential for installing the print queue
We have reinstalled(Completely wiped and installed freshly) the driver for the PQ'S still the issue occurs.
This issue is reporting after one month before.
Findings:
Qns:
Scenario 1)If we install a driver from shared resource(Server), (Imagine i have 5.7 version driver available in Server)
and trying to install the print queue and Updated driver(By Default) available in the client(Imagine Client Windows 10 It might have the latest driver OS it self) That may be the reason for asking Admin password ?
Scenario 2) GPO and Print queue restriction Policy(Not defined in our environment)
Scenario 3)If we identify the driver from Vendor and install Which will support all the OS(Include 64/32 bit all windows) will resolve the issue ?
Scenario 4)How to test print queue by forcefully stopping Domain Policy(To check whether it is GPO restriction)
Also i would like to know what is the background process while installing print queue from a shared resource(Print Server)Eg:For AD login (Ticket granting Ticket),DHCP(DORA)
