Hi all,
I am having the hardest time trying to figure out why exactly certain computers aren't allowing this one printer to deploy to them. I originally had the same problem many people had with Win10 and printer deployment: the GPO wasn't going down to the machine because of a driver issue. I found those articles online and heeded their advice, which worked great on most of the machines. One room though, only has 4 of 31 computers actively deploying this one printer, while the others won't take the GPO push at all. I have done as the others have and installed the driver manually. I also have tried about 4 or 5 other things to try and get the printer to push, but with no avail. So far I have tried:
- Removing the driver and reinstalling it from the web
- Removing the driver and reinstalling it from a USB drive
- Removing the driver and reinstalling it from the print server (I manually deployed the printer to the machine, but it doesn't deploy to other profiles on the same PC)
- Removing the driver and reinstalling it from the same place I installed the driver on the server from. (network share)
All of this doesn't work, so I start reading logs and I can't seem to find anything other than the GPO ran and other printers on the GPO installed. Gpresult also gives me no info on why this one printer isn't installing, just that it applies to the computer. I have tried to remove and add it with it's own gpo as well - no luck.
Is there somewhere in either the event viewer on the workstation or server that will say why the printer isn't installing? As always, your help is appreciated!
