Print to UNC path & driver settings

Hi,

How does printing to UNC path works? Should I still be able to use the Printing Defaults-Settings on the print server?

We are having some issues with a software that prints directly to UNC path (e.g.\\PrintServer\PrinterQueue) on the Print Server (Windows Server 2008 R2). I was testing this by printing from my (Win7) workstation CLI:

"C:\Temp>print /d:\\PrintServer\PrinterQueue doc.docx"

I set the Printing Defaults to "2-Sided"  and "Gray Scale" but the settings do not take affect. Printouts are from the CLI are 1-Sided and with Color.

And printing a .PNG -image file result in a blank page.
