I am setting up a Windows 2008 R2 print services using Internet Printing (ie. I want my users installing printers using the webhttp://servername/printers). Users are able to connect to the webpage and install the printers correctly, however the default printer configuration as set up on the print server is not being copied to the local device (ie. duplexer, additional tray, stapler, etc).
If I install the printer via a UNC mapping to the server (ie. \\servername) I can then connect to the printer and the configuration installs correctly, just not via the webpage.
In addition, if I query the printer configuration from within the installed printer I am able to update the local installed settings on the UNC installed printer, but the Internet Printing install fails to communicate back to the printer.
I'm assuming this is related to IIS permissions and the printer port (a UNC install printer shows the port as a Standard TCP/IP port, the webpage installed printer shows the port as an 'internet port') but otherwise have no idea where to look/what to change.
Thanks
