I'm building a new 2008 R2 Print Server and have come across a HP LaserJet 4000tn model in our domain. According to HP's website, I should use the driver already on the Operating System. When I start to add the printer, I get to the driver section and do not see the model listed in the preconfigured list the OS provides me. So after clicking on 'Windows Updates' I see the model of printer (HP LaserJet 4000 Series PCL6) and install it. Everything is hunkie-dorie and this point. Now I need to add x86 support for the printer. I'm installing all of my printers via Print Management. When I view the properties of the printer and check the box for x86 support, it asks me for the .inf file for the driver. The problem is that I used the driver provided by Microsoft. Furthermore, when I right click on the 'Drivers' section of my PS and select 'Add Driver...' I can select the box for x86 and the model is listed. When I select HP LaserJet 4000 Series PCL6, it then asks me to browse to find the print driver.
Can someone tell me how to add x86 support for this printer?
Cheers
-Little Richard.
